Before that, Mary Kay worked as a national training director for a direct selling company in the 60s. She decided to resign when one of her male trainee was given the promotion with twice as much salary as hers. The situation is not uncommon at the time. In fact, many women were not given equal opportunities and that prompted her to write a guide for women to succeed. However, it led her to do more. With her savings and armed with her plan and experience, Mary Kay put up Beauty by Mary Kay together with her then 20-year old son Richard.
Fast forward to many years later, Mary Kay is one of the leading businesses for women selling skin care products and cosmetics. It became a revolutionary company that opened doors of opportunity for millions of women in the United States and other parts of the world. Their products are scientifically formulated so they that are not only safe but delivers their promise of effectiveness. When you join Mary Kay, you can expect trainings, leadership seminars and mentoring programs. This is together with a competitive compensation plans, benefits package, prizes and recognition. If you want to be an independent distributor, you will be given almost all the tools you need to get your business started.
I say almost because it looks like Mary Kay, like many other MLM companies, really focuses on the direct sales part of the business and not really on the team building aspect up front. This is fine if you just want a small check every month but it is not enough to make a good living out of it (although long time Mary Kay reps do, but they are exceptions). And this is what a most simpler Mary Kay review would have missed.
If you want to really kick this opportunity in the rear, you need to learn how to market the business side of Mary Kay and grow a team of marketers. You must learn how to use systems and the Internet to fully automate and duplicate your efforts and results.

I was told I would get training………… I did get push about the inventory I chose lower than thank god my diQ in training recruiter wanted.
and she acted like the little invetory people werent worth your time. Thus no training. I did not have over 6 people at my daboue so she did not come. I was on my own at meetings. All training I got was by experience and what I saw on website and training disk. I got more training time with a nice consultant that was just a good person when I moved.
As I tryed different networking styles and went to numerous leads accually 80 and got only 390 in sales and of course it wasnt alot of inventory I moved and tryed different adoptee leaders and they arent interested because they dont get paid for you.
I was glad my 600 dollar investment was all I did wholesale of course.. I tryed warm chat and getting leads in dress consignment shops from the facials I did. Leads ran out my energy did also It was not anything like I thought I would be. I was alway sold seminars not free, meetings at a cost. and now I want to return my inventory I was told I could only be able to return inventory for only up to a year ago. for 90 of wholesale value. Marketed lead ideas at a cost. I steared clear of those things. Everyone thinks its a magic formula and its not I am very personable. Found most meetings about selling the mary kay dream and no real advise on runing your business leadership , how to applymakeup. How to find leads. How to manage the business side of your business. My guess is somewhere out there are people investing in there units but mostly I guess there are just recruiting machines trying to get 90 reqruits in 90 days to invest 3600 or 5600 in inventory and who gives a hoot if you may at your best may only sell 250 retail a month and can barley pay the credit card bill each month you purchased it on. My guess is that only about 600 out of 6000000 consoltants make the 6 figure income mary k brags about and that is In my opion Probably only 6 make that million dollar mark.
I got ticked off when I was told I can only sell back inventory bought only up to a year ago…..I am going with ebay and sell all I can at a 10% discount screw the agreement.
