Scentsy Reviews

You can find thousands of Scentsy Reviews on the Internet.

Do they mean anything? Maybe 90% of them were written by Scentsy consultants and therefore strongly biased. I am not a Scentsy consultant. Here is my unbiased Scentsy review.

Since it was first introduced in the market, the Multilevel Marketing Business has grown to a multi-billion dollar industry. You can now find network marketing companies selling almost anything you can think of – from health supplements, household items, coins and now candles. If you haven’t already heard about a Multilevel Marketing company selling different kinds of candles, you will find this article very informative. It aims to discuss the company, its products and services so you can decide if it is worth your time or not.

Throughout the years of being in the direct selling industry, I could not find any reason behind selling candles. If there is one thing I learned over the years, it is to not venture into a company whose product you need to force yourself to understand. With that said however, you also need to understand that there are certain products that you think might not sell itself in an industry such as the network marketing industry but in reality, it is selling like pancakes. Go figure…

Worth selling candles after reading Scentsy reviews?

After reading those Scentsy reviews and doing more research, it looks like Scentsy is one of those companies that, unlike some other network marketing companies, have humble beginnings and keeps a low profile. They do not resort to hypes and go over the top about how great their products are and that you will earn millions in no time.

If you check out their website, you will be surprised to know that it is a legitimate company that is accredited by the Better Business Bureau. The company was established by work at home moms who values simplicity, authenticity and generosity. These core values are evident in their business model and the way Scentsy markets their products and how they relate to their consultants as a whole.

Despite their humble beginnings, and based on other Scentsy reviews and the volume of  internet searches that are being done, Scentsy seems to be one of the most rapid growing company in the direct selling and multilevel marketing companies.

If you are a consultant, selling the Wickless Candle alternatives can give you a decent income even if you decide to work part time. If you want to make it into a full time career however, you don’t have to settle with just earning up to $6 for every product you sell. The fact that it is still a Multilevel Marketing Company requires that you build a solid network and customer base in order for your business to succeed.

What the other Scentsy reviews will not tell you

One of the common mistakes network marketers make is that they rely heavily on their relatives and friends. How many do you know are actually willing to buy your products and join your network month after month?

Chances are the number is not enough to give you a substantial income. If you want a discount on your candles that might be fine, but if you want a real income, it’s definitely not enough!

The best approach is to properly position your business on the internet so that people who are already looking for your products can find you easily. The internet will allow you to reach out to people who are already in the business and at the same time, it will give you the opportunity to generate leads and boost your sales figures.

So after reading maybe too many Scentsy reviews, I can tell you that one of the easiest method to get started and not be overwhelmed, is to use Facebook, doing activities you are most likely already doing everyday!

I have a great FREE training video about this. I just watched it again a few days ago. Great tips on how to connect with a lot of people and have them ask YOU if they can join your business!

I beg to differ…If your selling with Scentsy the RIGHT way…you WILL make an outstanding income. The income I make with Scentsy, more than exceeds my expectations. The Scentsy opportunity is like NO other. I invite you to join with Scentsy and rock it the way you would any job and then make your decision based on what you have experienced. The only reason someone would not make money with Scentsy would be because they were not treating it like a real money making position.

    Come try it!

      Hi Stacy,

Thank you for your comment. I think actually agree!

If you go back to the article, you can see that the sentence in this context refers to the fact that you most likely do not have enough relatives for you to make a significant income by just “selling” the candles.

So when I say “Chances are the number is not enough to give you a substantial income.” it means that you must find a better way to market than just the people you already know. You must find more people to talk to on a daily basis.

I am personally not with Scentsy but I am sure it is a great opportunity if this is s market you enjoy.

The reason Scentsy sells so good is it is easily affordable. One initial $30.00 fee for your warmer. Any scent you want to purchase for $5.00 each. New scents come out every month. The product smells great! Wickless, and fire free. What else can you want. Consultants that I know are selling this like crazy. I am hanging up the expensive Mary Kay cosmetics business to give this a try.

      Hi Jill,

I have to agree that it is a very good price point when looking at it as a “Direct Sales” perspective meaning you can get a lot of customers. On the other hand, because the price is very low, don’t you think the commissions you will get will be very low too based on the percentage you get from the compensation plan?

I am not with Scentsy so I don’t have all the inside tricks but that what I would expect to see and I would expect to need hundreds and hundreds of customers to create a significant income. Would you have some insights o this?

I am sorry for anyone that trys this. If you want to get people to work under you or buy alot yourself back away .. This is a waste of money. And they will tell you you don’t have to sell any set amounts but thats not true. They will be happy to take your money thought.

    • Perig Says:

I Cindy, I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience with this company. I am not affiliated with Scentsy but I know there is no such things as a network marketing business where you don’t have to sell anything… If you hear that from a company or a rep, just turn away and go find someone who can teach you how to “sell” instead of trying to “get you in” at any cost… Thanks for stopping by Cindy.

As far as the whole making money thing goes. You realy only get out what you put it. If you dont work for that goal tjen you wont do so well. My wife and I have only been selling for 2 months and have already made $400+ in commision. Push the product and find common ground with potential customers and it will pay off.

My wife joined Scentsy 9 months ago; saying that I was sceptical at first would be an understatement. We talked about it for a few days before she convinced me that this was a good idea……am I ever glad I listened to her…..in 9 months my wife has gone from Essential Consultant to SuperStar, has a team of 26 consultants and averages commission checks of over $700 every month!

The article states that too many consultants rely on friends and family for sales. Perig is absolutely right, at first Tanya ( my lovely wife ) got a bunch of orders from friends and family which made us a few bucks, but she quickly realized that to make a decent amount you need to come up with a way to expand your customer base. To overcome this hurdle she started offering incentives at parties she was hosting to whoever booked a party, a free candle burner, a brick of wax or plug in warmer. She now has multiple candle parties a month, mostly with people she barely knows. Yes it’s a lot of work hosting multiple parties a month but like Nick stated in the last post, you get what you put in….

With any direct selling business, you get out of it what you put in. I have been with Scentsy for a year and four months. I love it and love the products. Of course it was hard to get out of my friends and family circle, but I had to put myself out there. Once I started getting involved with my community and helping others, my Scentsy business really took off. It’s all about being yourself, giving to others, great customer service and making yourself standout.

This is not a quick way to make cash, it will take time. And it will not happen overnight.

Scentsy can be as hard or as easy as you make it!! It does require a little effort to succeed! If you really want to get your name out there, it requires a lot of effort! But I can do it on my own time, when & where I want to do it. I don’t have someone standing over me asking “When are you going to do some work!?”

    Hello All,

I am being approached by a family member who is already with scentsy, to become a consultant. I am not sure if I even have to time to put into it as you all speak of. I am an insurance agent and full time mother of 3. It’s a full plate but it would be nice to have more income of course. I am just curious about those of you who are in the program, do you work else where? if so is it full or part time? I don’t know if the time required is something I could handle.

Thank you all for your comments they are very helpful.

      Hi Yolanda,

Thank you for the message. I am personally not in Scentsy but in Network Marketing still and to be honest with you it is tough to tell you if YOU will have time. You got to look at your schedule, see if you have regular time to dedicate to it. It will for sure NOT built itself no matter what people will tell you, you got to commit to put time into it.

It all comes down to what is your priority. If you have the core belief that if you put time into this now you will get great rewards later down the road then you will find time in your schedule for it… ;)

      Yolanda,
I have been selling Scentsy for a little over a year & I absolutely love! I don’t work at another job but I am going to school (taking a few quarters off). I have found that the only time it is hard to sell Scentsy is when you don’t put your self out there! When I was attending class 2-3 days a week & volunteering at a nursing home 2-3 days a week all while taking care of my family the sales were great!! Now that I am at home with more time than I know what to do with sales have slowed way down!! When you become a Scentsy consultant it is your business to work how you wanna work it!! The great thing about Scentsy is as long as you put in an order (of any size) between July 1st & December 31st you will remain a consultant! I have a lady on my team that does solely catalog parties & online orders & it is working out awesome for her!! She does these 2 methods because she doesn’t have time to do home parties & events! I had a really hard time deciding weather to sell Scentsy! How do you know it is legit? Well I found a consultant to ask about ALL the reservations I had! She explained it all to me & told me that she would help me get started! we scheduled my launch party & the way she did it is she presented the party but allowed me to be active host & consultant! We tag teamed that party (I was not even signed up yet) When the night was over (2hrs) & there was $589 in orders sitting in front of me, she looked at me & said you just paid for your starter kit with your first commission check! I signed up that night Aug 31st & put that $589 in as my first order as a Scentsy consultant & on the 10th of Sept (thats when commissions are paid) I had $118 pay check waiting for me. Don’t forget I was also the host of that party so I got $88 in FREE product Plus 4 half off items!! I was sold!! I hit the ground running!! Now with all that said I have had months were I have had $0 sales & I have had months where I have cleared over $500 pay check!! It all depends on what you do with it!! Scentsy is NOT a get rich quick gig!!

I love these wickless sstency candles they have now. I always had that problem of losing the wick in the candle wax and having to dig for it which usually ruins the candle and sometimes the wick. Thanks for educating us on how it works!

I would not get involved with this company or order anything from it ever again. Their customer service is BEYOND poor…like there is NONE!

    • Jennifer Duprel Says:

Karrie Foster I am sorry you had troubles like that. Please don’t turn down the entire company because you had a consultant that was not trustworth, polite, or anything else that may have happened. Not all consultants are like that. There are alway going to be certain people like that and I’m sorry you encountered some that way. Around my area the majority of the consultants are great. When I joined I had some people at parties that said they never got their product or their previous consultant never answered their calls and a number of other things. I am one of the consultants that will go out of their way to help you and make sure your happy and I’ve never not put in an order or forgot something for someone and I drop off the order’s to the customers myself. Not trying to force you into relooking at the product but I think if you had a better consultant things would have been amazing for you.

  9. Marjie Says:

I will be signing on to become a Scentsy Consultant in the next couple of days and am currently an Avon Representative (for the past year). For either one you get what you put into it like anything else in life. There isn’t a 100% perfect job in the world and no company is without some sort of flaws (but hopefully they are minor). Avon has given me an opportunity to meet knew people, try an avenue of selling I haven’t done before, get discounted product and probably spend more then I should but I have learned a hard lesson about that and have begun to better streamline that. This is NOT the fault of Avon either – these were additional inventory items I chose to get on my own. Completely by accident I started leadership because someone was interested in becoming a Rep. It’s not something I push and Avon doesn’t force me to.
My friend who lives 3 hours away sells Scentsy and we met doing an event at the Mall a couple of times now. I see the sales she gets and where she is after a couple of years and it’s incredible. If this takes off like I’m hoping it will it’ll be another nice avenue for income to build up their savings. Getting the info from a friend verses just inquiring from the company directly is much different. I’ve done my homework and am looking at being able to share both with clients from both avenues. I am thrilled for all that have done well in any direct marketing avenue as long as you’ve done it without making people feel as if they have to purchase 100′s of dollars of product or forcing people to join just to get the numbers under you. I for one would make a lousy car saleswoman. :)

MY DAUGHTER IN LAW AND MYSELF AND A LOT OF HER FRIENDS, HAVE BOUGHT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS OF THIS PRODUCT AND ARE FURIOUS. SOME OF THE HOLDERS ARE NOT THE COLOR THAT IS IN THE CATALOG AND WHEN WE HAVE COMPLAINED AND ASKED TO EXCHANGE FOR ANOTHER ONE ,WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE IS NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO. WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICES IS THIS? WE WOULD NEVER HAVE BOUGHT ANY PRODUCTS OR ORDERED CHRISTMAS PRESENTS IF WE HAD THOUGHT THIS WOULD HAPPEN, AND WE WILL NOT BE ORDERING ANYTHING ELSE FROM THIS COMPANY THAT BRAGS ON LINE ABOUT ALL THE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS THAT THEY MAKE. I AM SURE WE ARE NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMERS THAT ARE NOT CRAZY IN LOVE WITH THIS PRODUCT, LIKE ALL THE COMMENTS THAT ARE ON LINE. I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SOMEONE IN CHARGE, IF YOU CAN HELP PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANK YOU, SHARON WARD

I love the Coconut – Lemon Grass scent, sometimes i’ll mix two scents together and create a new scent.

Did you know there is an easy removal of the spent wax?
Simply PEEL the spent wax when it’s in a cooled solid state.

I love scentsy. I started selling a month and a half ago. My first commission was 382.00 and my next one on the 10th will be 900. Isn’t it amazing? I am a very shy person and I have a full time job so I just do it by the side. Scensty sells itself..I love scentsy…https://michaelamarie.scentsy.us/Scentsy/Home
